What is needed to be involved in the Parish

Safeguard Training

The Archdiocese of Brisbane has three safeguarding training packages,

1. A Safeguarding Induction.

2. Applied Safeguarding Training.

3. Training for Local Safeguarding Representatives.

The Induction is also used for refresher training every 2 years and is a pre-requisite for Applied Safeguarding training.

Applied Safeguarding Training

All registered Archdiocesan volunteers who work with children or adults-at-risk must complete Applied Safeguarding training – in addition to the Safeguarding Induction.

It should take about 45 minutes to complete the training.

Completion of the Safeguarding Induction is a prerequisite for this training.

Working with Children or Adults-at-Risk

Working with children or adults-at-risk means undertaking activities and ministries where contact with children or adults-at-risk is part of the activity, or reasonably expected, and the contact is more than incidental (i.e. brief or in passing).
